This section provides Warriors players with periodic guidance and assistance in the development of their basic skills; with a focus on areas of development immediately relevant to the competition/opponents which they are to play in the immediate future.

The section provides an overview of issues and subjects of focus which will be further detailed in their individual player sites; and is broken into:

adfddeeee3ee   Catch/Pass/Run.

A core skill lying at the center of all play within the game of rugby; in this section players will have access to skills, drills and exercises specific to the development of their catching, passing and running ability.

adfddeeee3eee    Tackle.

At the core of any good defense lies the basic skill of tackling, without which any system or structure will fail; in this section players will have access to skills, drills and exercises specific to the development of their tackling ability.

adfddeeee3eeeq  Breakdown/Contact.

An area of increasing complexity and difficulty is the breakdown/contact area, which dominates the ground portion of the modern game of Rugby; in this section players will have access to skills, drills and exercises specific to the development of their ability to compete for the ball following the tackle.

adfddeeee3eeeqe    Units.

The often more complex unit based areas of Rugby comprise a challenge for even the most experienced player, with multiple forwards and backs based unit skills represented in the modern game (Scrums, Line outs, Attack Launches, Defensive Schemes, Maps etc);  in this section players will have access to skills, drills and exercises specific to the development of their ability to operate as part of a Forward or Back unit in the Attack, Defense and Counter Attack.

adfddeeee3eeeqee    Kicking.

Within a more open and mature game the nature of kicking moves from simply being a means to start a game, or score 3 points, to a tactical weapon to provide a team with superior attacking position or defensive space; in this section players will have access to skills, drills and exercises specific to the development of their wider kicking skills.

adfddeeee3eeeqeee    Decision Making.

Increasingly the success or failure of teams depends on the quality of the decisions they make under pressure, and the quality of the decision making and the ability of players to deal with stress/complexity determines the winner of games; in this section players will have access to skills, drills and exercises specific to the development of their wider technical skills and knowledge which allows them to make better, faster and more resilient decisions.
